This policy explains what personal information Colonial Realty Ltd. (“Colonial Realty”, “we”) collects through crbahamas.com, why, who sees it and the choices you have. It covers this website only. When you deal with an agent by phone, WhatsApp or in person, they handle your information in the same way.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through a form:
- Ask about this property: your name, a phone number and/or email address, your message, whether you would like a viewing, and the property you asked about.
- Contactar a form: your name, phone number, email address, what you are interested in (buying, selling, renting and so on) and your message.
- Sell with us (evaluation request): your name, phone number, email address, the type and location of the property, and anything else you tell us.
- Appraisal request: your name, phone number, email address, how you prefer to be contacted, the purpose of the appraisal, the property location and your message.
Client accounts (optional). If you create an account, we keep your email address, the searches you save with how often you want alerts, your favourite properties, and when you joined and last signed in. We use them only to run your account and send the alerts you choose; every alert has an unsubscribe link. You can delete your account at any time from the account page; accounts unused for 18 months are deleted automatically.
Each form asks you to confirm that we may contact you about your message. We do not ask for financial, identity or payment details through this website.
Technical information. To stop spam, each form is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical signals from your browser. We also count form attempts per connection for a short time; the connection address is stored only as a scrambled code that expires automatically. If you visit an address that does not exist, we note the address (not who visited) so we can fix broken links. Our website host keeps standard server logs. Cookies and similar storage are explained in our cookie policy.
Visit counts. We count page views and the general source of each visit (search engine, social media, another website or direct) as daily totals, without cookies and without storing your IP address or anything else that identifies you. If you accept Analytics in Cookie settings, Google Analytics also measures your visit; see the cookie policy.
How we use it
- To reply to you and arrange viewings, evaluations and appraisals you ask for.
- To pass your inquiry to the agent responsible for the property, and to our office team.
- To keep a record of inquiries so we can follow up properly and improve our service.
- To keep the website secure and free of spam.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not add you to marketing lists from these forms.
Who sees it
Your inquiry is seen by Colonial Realty staff and the agent handling it. We also rely on service providers who process information on our behalf: our website host, our email delivery service, Cloudflare (spam protection), Mapbox (maps) and YouTube (video tours, only when you press play). With your agreement we may share details with others involved en your request, for example a lender or appraiser when you ask us to arrange an appraisal. We may disclose information where the law requires it.
Some of these providers process information outside The Bahamas. We use established providers and share only what is needed for each service.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries while we deal with them and afterwards as part of our business records. If you would like us to delete your information, ask us and we will do so unless we need to keep it for legal or record-keeping reasons.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also change your cookie choices at any time using Configuración de cookies. In The Bahamas, personal information is protected by the Data Protection (Privacy of Personal Information) Act, 2003. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first; you may also contact the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Inquiries are stored in our website’s database and can be opened only by signed-in Colonial Realty staff. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Children
This website is for adults looking to buy, sell, rent or value property. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Other websites
Links to WhatsApp, social networks, lenders and other websites are governed by those services’ own privacy policies.
Changes
We will update this page if the way we handle personal information changes, and change the date at the top.
